The 2007 eligibility requirements for voting members are as follows:
- The member must make a portion of their living as an artist, musician, writer, producer, engineer or other music industry profession.
- The member must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be listed in the creative or eligible non-creative credits of at least four commercially released albums, or album equivalents (commercially released is defined as an album that has sold 500 or more copies to the public); or
- Be the predominantly featured artist, writer, creator or producer on at least two commercially released albums, or album equivalents as defined above; or
- Be a former nominee in any Pearl Awards category in any prior year.
- The member must pay FCMA voting membership dues and be a member in good standing.
These requirements have been modified from earlier years in two areas:
- Artists, writers, creators, or producers may now become voting members if they are predominantly featured on a minimum of two commercially released albums or album equivalents (the previous requirement was four).
- Individuals who are credited in any eligible non-creative role on a minimum of four commercially released albums or album equivalents may now become voting members. Eligible non-creative roles must be verified in the credits of the album and include the roles of "project coordinator," "album concept," "executive producer," or other similarly contributing role.
If you are a current non-voting member but now qualify to vote under the new eligibility requirements, please contact Membership Services Director
Jeannine Lasky to upgrade your membership.
